Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum

While most were watching Dungey dominate outdoors Saturday afternoon, I spent mine walking through the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum and let me tell you that it did nottttt disappoint me at all! In fact I enjoyed myself the whole way through the place. I thought before going that I was only going to enjoy the motocross and supercross sections, but I ended up finding all of the exhibits interesting! It is seriously a great place if you love any kind of motorcycles. My family and I spent probably 3 hours walking around (and it really isn't that big) but we were so intrigued by all the bikes, facts and memorabilia that we couldn't pass anything up without reading what it was. Not to mention we also spent another hour in the gift shop section. The man working at the front counter was also so nice and willing to help. I have nothing bad to say about any of this trip except don't stay at a hotel by the Columbus Airport. It was cool seeing the airplanes land and take off but there is seriously NOTHING to do around there and you have to drive on the highway the whole time, so going out and driving back was not an option therefore we spent most of our evening on the patio or at the lounge enjoying our weekend get-away. Ok, back to more about the motorcycle hall of fame... I think they could update the motorcross/supercross section, but that's just what I think because they could add a lot more people. I was thinking Carmichael, Stewart, and Reed would have some little part since they have done things in the MX/SX industry that I think could/should get recognized. They have McGrath, which I was in love with, but I thought it would be a little different. However, I am not complaining just stating a thought I had. I loved every single section we walked through, there is an upstairs and a downstairs to the building and a patio out the back incase you want to enjoy yourself half way through the museum. Although it was rainy and gloomy when we went (glad we picked an indoor activity) we made the best out of it. OH! and downstairs they have a little questionnaire and if you fill it out and take it back upstairs with you to the front desk, you receive a free sticker (normally costs like $3) I was happy with that and the guy even sold us key chains that had not been marked or put up for sale yet :)

Here are some pictures I took in the Motorcross/Supercross section :)

ENJOY!

Only one week away

Only one more week to wait for the MX Nationals to start! Personally I am still bummed out that TwoTwo motorsports will not be in attendance at the races, but things happen and he will be back next year. I was excited to hear the news about Stewart racing outdoors, and looking comfortable on his new suzuki. The guy hasn't looked like himself racing in quiet awhile... It will be good to see if the old "bubba" has came back and ready to battle and maybe even win a championship!

Even without two other contenders, Villopoto and Reed, this outdoors season should be one to remember. Short, Brayton, Millsaps, Weimer and now Rattray will have a chance to prove themselves and hopefully battle at the front of the group with Dungey and Stewart. I know it sounds like I am automatically putting Dungey and Stewart at the top, but I want Short, Brayton, etc... to battle and even win races this season but it just seems practical that Dungey and Stewart will be up front and battling like they have before.

I for one will be glued to live timing and then the television on May 19th to watch the start of the 2012 MX Nationals! Be sure you are too!

Bring on the Nationals

Supercross is now over after an exciting Vegas finale this past weekend. Now with only 11 days remaining, the motocross nationals are set to being May 19 at Hangtown in California. It is going to be an exciting outdoor season for the fans and riders, except for those still hurt like Reed, Villopoto and Canard. With that being said it looks like Millsaps, Short, Brayton and Weimer may have a chance to battle up front and make it on to the podium. Although big news has been surfacing this past week as James Stewart heads to Yoshimira Suzuki and Tyla Rattray fills-in for Villopoto, so it looks like Dungey is going to have some competition this summer and hopefully there are some great battles during the races!

This week, with it being the riders only week off for about another month, is full of testing and preparing not only themselves but the team and their bikes setup for outdoors. Supercross and Motocross are different and yet alike in someways, but as for their setup the bikes suspension for outdoors needs to be adjusted a lot more because of the different terrain that the riders deal with each week. The riders that come out to Hangtown and show top results are usually the teams that have put in the time and have been able to test a lot longer than the other riders. Usually during the last couple weeks of supercross the riders begin testing their outdoor settings and dialing in with their bike, unless they happen to be in a battle for the championship then that leaves little time for the team to test outdoors because they want them to be completely focused on the championship and winning it. However, this year no team should have an excuse for late testing (unless your Stewart who just switched teams, again) because Villopoto had the championship clenched 4 rounds early, Barcia had won the east coast championship early, and well Tomac might have a little excuse but he did win the championship 2 weeks early. What it may be though, racing is racing and the riders know what they have to do to be prepared for outdoors!

Geico Honda controls Supercross Lites Championships!

The Geico Honda team and Pro Circuit have always had a rivarly when it comes to the lites class. These past couple years have been nothing but great racing and battles from both teams.

Last year we had the famous Barcia-Wilson battle on the east coast, but this year Wilson made the switch to West coast and Barcia seemed to have no problem defending his East Coast Championship again!

This year we had another Wilson battle but against Barcia's teammate Tomac! It was great racing and the points were close until this weekend at Salt Lake when Wilson was riding with an injured shoulder, he went down before the finish line and rode of the track, Tomac didn't know it but when he crossed the finish line at the checkered flag he had won the West Coast Lites Championship!

CONGRATS TO BOTH ELI TOMAC AND JUSTIN BARCIA FOR THEIR HARDWORK AND DETERMINATION TO WIN THESE CHAMPIONSHIPS!!
